Book Review: Knockout Entrepreneur
By George Foreman
I am reviewing this as a Book Review Blogger for Thomas Nelson. You can find out more here: http://www.brb.thomasnelson.com.
George Foreman was the man when it came to boxing. He won the heavy weight championship as a young fighter, and then twice more (once in his forties). On top of that, he is the main force behind the George Foreman Grill and many other products. He writes in Knockout Entrepreneur some basic tips for inventors and new business owners.
The book itself is great. It is a Nelson Free product meaning you can get the audio book as well as a digital (e-copy) of the book for free with the purchase of this book. It comes in a hard cover and a great type-face.
The contents are pretty good too. While I am a church planter and not really a business starter, I found some of his points to work well for both fields. Simple things like, make good business contacts, make the most of any presentation, and work hard. These may seem simple, but most of us just need to hear them again.
All that said, I enjoyed the book, but found it a little shallow on content. I loved the autobiographical illustrations, but the rest of the book felt like a motivational seminar on paper. If you are looking into first-time business ownership, or you just want to get your feet mildly wet, I would reccomend giving this book a quick read. Otherwise, I am sure there are other books out there (and Foreman would agree with me) that you should probably read.
I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
